I thought about starting this blog post by listing all the obligations and activities that make up my days. I thought about ranting on how my college experience is running from meeting to meeting and not watching Netflix or complaining about my 6 a.m. alarm clock. Heck – my excuse for not writing a blog post in a month was because I said I was too busy!
Jeff Bezo, the CEO of Amazon, makes time to eat breakfast with his wife every morning. If the executive leader of one of the fastest growing companies in the world can do that, we aren’t too busy for anything.
We need to stop using business as an excuse to not prioritize well.
No one is too busy to call their parents or go to the gym, we are just deciding in that moment that isn’t a priority for us.
While life probably won’t get less crazy, it is critical to sit down and make room for the things that bring you joy.
This doesn’t mean we don’t follow through with commitments or neglect the things that actually have to get done. Making the most out of the day, having intentional time with a variety of people, and working hard are not bad things. I think God calls us to not sit back but cultivate greatness in this world. On that note, we need to be intentional about making the important things in life a value that can be seen in how we schedule our lives.
It is far more respectable to me to see people who have a lot on their plate manage their lives well. They balance their work, family, and friendships in a healthy way. They choose to take care of themselves on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.
One thing that I do make time for in the morning is the news, my Bible, breakfast, and a cup of coffee. That blaring alarm is worth it because I get to sit before the chaos. While the day ahead is packed, I make sure this morning moment happens.
Life is busy… but never too busy.
Ok, Aly, I thought this was a blog post about coffee.
It’s about a brand that understands this idea.
Bizzy Coffee was founded by two best friends. While they were climbing the corporate ladder, running a group fitness company, and training for a 24-hour obstacle race, they created a product for people on the move.
This cold brew will save you time to put towards the important things in life (aka not the Starbucks drive thru).
Guys, this Minneapolis based company is the real deal. They are all about the little things, even sending me a personalized, hand-written letter. I am so proud to promote them because I truly believe in their business. They’ve been featured on BuzzFed, Fox News, NBC News and Refinery 29 among many others.
They also have awesome recipes on their blog you can find here.
Minnesota friends! You can get Bizzy Coffee at Kowloskis. Otherwise, use this link to get yours on Amazon.
What could you do if you saved time with Bizzy Coffee in the morning?
